Music Marketing #1

    Throwbacks are songs inspired by an older decade of music which Vampire Weekend, Declan Mckenna, MARINA, and Vance Joy are known to create. These bands/artists are very interactive with their audiences and value their opinions. One of our campaign ideas is to base our brand on our audience's opinions by asking for their thoughts and ideas on where we should tour, what our themes should be, etc. Polls and quizzes will be made on Instagram and Twitter so we can reach our indie pop audience from ages 16-22.

    The name of our brand is Phoenix which is used to represent rebirth and rising from the ashes. We are trying to share the message that you should embrace who you are by being who you want to be. We are going to create an official website for our Phoenix brand that will reflect the theme of our music like both MARINA and Vance Joy have done. We will also be designing merch with the outline of a phoenix which will be the main symbol of our brand.




    We have created a schedule that will help us stay on track and finish our project on time. So far, we have finished researching bands/artists in the indie pop genre and creating a storyboard for our music video. We will film our music video over the weekend and edit soon after. The story in our music video is a simple romantic comedy that will share the boy's perspective through fish lens and the girl's perspective through normal lens. This is to illustrate the chaotic and fun nature of the boy which opposes the the careful and controlled nature of the girl.
