CCR Script

Question 1:

My film, Deadly Thrills, focuses on my main character, Alisha, who faces many struggles in her life as a teenager. In my film opening, you can already see her facing some of these problems such as family or relational issues with her parents. Her parents are very focused on their work and don't have much time to spend with their daughter. Therefore, she feels neglected by them. This is shown when her father calls her during a meal to cancel their plans since they have more important things to deal with. Alicia is also a character that lacks confidence. She is very passionate about art but doesn't believe she is good enough which leaves her unable to go after her dreams. These internal stuggles severely affect her life since she is very unhappy and doesn't think she can do anything to change it. I believe many teenagers can relate to these issues that Alisha faces since they also face their own relational and internal problems on a day-to-day basis. Teenagers may not have the exact problems Alicia deals with in her life, but I think they can relate to the frustations that she constantly feels.

Question 2:

My product engages with audiences through an additional dramatic event that unfolds during the film opening. It is revealed that Alisha is not part of a regular family but that she is actually the daughter of a notorious crime family. This plot is unveiled when Alisha is watching a news story and her family is mentioned as part of the Merciar gang. It is implies that Alisha grew up very rich when the details of her extravagent home are shown. The setting may be beautiful, however, it is also very cold and lonely, which leaves the audience wondering whether the life Alisha has is as beautiful as it seems. The target audience of this film is trying to reach teenagers. Therefore, I plan on distributing this film through YouTube where millions of teenagers all over the world will be able to access it easily.

Question 3:

Since, I didn't have any previous production skills before taking this class. I was pretty scared about diving into this project with such little experience. However, after creating a step-by-step plan to help me produce my film opening, I became more confident in my abilities. I realized that I have been preparing for this project all year and have all the necessary skills needed in order to create a fantastic film opening. During the filming process, I took my time to film all my shots, so I would get the best possible results. I also got equipment that would help me improve my film opening after realizing how shaky my shots were the first time around. I did pretty basic editing for this project, but I did have some trouble with integrating fonts and applying a background with green screen. I ended up solving these problems by watching tutorials online and getting help from my classmates during out group meetings.

Question 4:

I integrated many technologies in order to make this project happen. I recorded the entire process of how this film opening was created on blogger.com. I regulary updated my blogs which contained details about my ideas, plans, and evaluations. To keep track of where I was during the 8 weeks in took to complete this project, I created a schedule on Canva, which was an amazingly organized website. I also used this website for some areas of my blog like my character mood boards. I used a website called arcstudiopro.com to write my screenplay for my film opening. I filmed the entire project using an iPhone14 which was the easiest and most accessible camara available to me. I edited my project using Adobe Premiere Pro since it was the most familiar software that I have been using all year during this class. I have spent a lot of time working on this project over the last 8 weeks, so I hope you all enjoy watching my film opening. It took a lot of blood, sweat, and tears.

CCR Planning

I have started to plan for my CCR. After thinking about my options, I am leaning towards director commentary and podcast. I feel like I can be more creative with these choices. I will answer the first 2 questions during the director commentary and the other 2 during the podcast. I watched some CCR's that previous students have completed and I think I have a better idea of what I need to do for mine. First, I am going to write a script answering all the questions for the CCR, so I will have a better idea of what I'm going to talk about during both the director commentary and podcast. I also need to find a neutral place with good lighting in my house to film the CCR. It will most likely be in my study. I plan on doing a lot of editing for the director commentary, so I'll finish filming it fast and get to the editing part as soon as I'm done.

Editing: Day 1

I finished filming everything and started the editing process on Adode Premiere Pro. It's going pretty slow since I took a lot of time to decide on a font. However, I'm having a lot of fun with putting my film opening together. Hopefully I can finish quickly and start working on my CCR.

Filming Complete!!

I finished filming all the scenes in my movie opening. It took a while, but I finally did it. I spent the whole day filming so I could get it out of the way and start editing my project. I was a bit nervous since I was behind on my schedule but now I'm back on track and super excited to see my film opening.
